Henna

The FDA had recently reported the danger with Henna – a reddish-brown color ink, derived from plants, used for temporary tattoo. On the market today, people have been seen using “black henna” instead of the traditional dye. “Black henna” is a combination of henna and other ingredients, usually containing p-phenylenediaine (PPD), which is used to create a longer lasting temporary tattoo. However, PPD can cause dangerous allergic reactions to users. It is not intended to be used on skin.

Permanent make up / cosmetics

Permanent cosmetics is also commonly called dermapigmentation, micropigmentation and cosmetic tattooing. This new trend uses tattoo techniques to apply the resemblance of makeup. It is applied to variety of parts of the face such as the lips, eyeliner, and eyebrows to accent its features. This technique was first used to assist people that lost eyebrows due to old age, disease and to cover up scars. This trend has grown in popularity with a focus  on saving time for busy/active women.
These procedures run the same risks as the more common forms of tattooing.

Tightlacing

An old trend making a comeback! In the 1800s, women wore corsets to slim their bodies in order to bring out their busts and hips. In modern days, some women are revisiting this fashion, but with a slight twist. This new practice is called tightlacing. Tightlacing uses a corset to redefine the body and still manage to retain the shape after removing the corset. To achieve this effect, women starts when they are young and this practice permanently compresses and lowers their ribs.
